How to Fund Investments via ACH Through the Portal

This step-by-step guide demonstrates how to easily transfer funds via ACH directly through the platform.

For you make an ACH transfer via the portal, the sponsor must have enabled ACH as a payment method during the funding process. 

Investing through the platform is easy and secure. If you choose to fund your investment via ACH (Automated Clearing House), follow these simple steps. The entire process typically takes just a few minutes to complete.

The final step in the investment process is the Fund Investment step, where you can follow the three steps below to initiate your fund transfer through the platform.

Step 1: Identity Verification

Before linking your bank account, we need to verify your identity. At this step, please click Continue when prompted and provide the following information exactly as it appears on your U.S. government-issued ID.

  1. First and Last Name 
  2. Full Address
  3. Date of Birth
  4. Social Security Number (SSN)

Once you’ve submitted this information, our system will verify your identity instantly. If there’s an error, you’ll be allowed one more attempt to correct it. After two unsuccessful attempts, you’ll be prompted to upload a government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport) for manual verification.

Step 2: Bank Account Verification

After your identity is verified, you’ll need to link and verify your bank account. This process is powered by our trusted partner, Plaid. Here’s how to complete it:

  1. Enter your mobile number and click Continue.
  2. Select your bank account from the list of available options and click Confirm to verify your bank details.

Step 3: Fund Transfer

Once your bank account is verified, you’re ready to fund your investment:

  1. Click Fund Now to initiate the payment.
  2. You’ll be asked to authenticate the transaction by entering a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to both your registered email address and phone number.
  3. After the authentication, you’ll receive an immediate confirmation once the ACH transfer is successfully initiated.

Important Note:
Some banks may have an ACH debit block that could prevent payments through our payment partner, Dwolla. If this happens, please contact your bank and request them to whitelist transactions from Dwolla by providing the following reference number:

  • Dwolla Company ID: 945440567

How to Check the Status of Your ACH Payment

You can track the status of your ACH payment directly on the platform:

  1. Navigate to Transactions > Contributions.
  2. Your investment will initially show as Pending.
  3. Once your transaction is successfully completed, it will update to Settled.

If there’s a problem with the payment, you’ll receive a failure notification.

How to Retry Failed Transactions

If your ACH transaction fails, don’t worry! You can easily retry the payment by following the steps provided.

Go to Transactions > Contributions > Click on retry under actions.

Failed transactions will be credited to your Dwolla balance and can be accessed through the platform. Please note, these failed amounts must be manually credited back to your bank.

FAQs

🙋 What is the transfer limit?


There is no transfer limit. Transactions are processed in multiples of $100K, so if you transfer $300K, it will appear as three separate $100K transactions on the statement.

🙋 How long do payments take? 

It may take 4-5 business days for the funds to settle into the Sponsor's account.

How will the payment appear on my bank statement?


The transaction will reference as SponsorCloud in your bank account statement.
