SponsorCloud MCP

A read-only Model Context Protocol server that lets Claude and other MCP-compatible clients securely access SponsorCloud data for sponsors and fund managers.

What It Can Do

The connector can help authorized users retrieve:

  • Offerings: offering details, documents, galleries, investor classes, fundraising progress, and metrics
  • Investors: profiles, reservations, investments, distributions, documents, K-1 status, accreditation status, and capital calls
  • Contacts: CRM fields, tags, saved views, contact notes, and owners
  • Dashboard & settings: dashboard financials, contact counts, portal branding, and company settings
  • Campaigns: email templates, delivery reports, bounced recipients, and sender domain information
  • Payments: ACH transactions, payment entities, bank accounts, recurring distributions, and payment status
  • Reports: contacts, investments, distributions, tax, Form D, and profile-change audit reports

 Claude Desktop AppPreferred (remote + OAuth): Custom Connector

  1. Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Customize. (Bottom most menu item)
  2. Choose the second menu item (Connectors).
  3. Click on Add.
  4. Name: e.g. Sponsorcloud.
  5. URL: https://prod-mcp-backend.invportal.com/mcpCopy
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Choose the default settings. Click on Add.
  8. Connect and finish OAuth in the browser.
  9. Start a new chat and confirm tools are listed.

 

 ChatGPT Desktop Web and App 

ChatGPT only supports remote HTTPS MCP. Needs a paid plan (Plus / Pro / Team / Business / Enterprise) for exhaustive usage. 

 

  1. Open ChatGPT web, open Settings.
  2. Settings → Plugins.
  3. Enable Developer Mode (Advanced / beta) so ChatGPT can add a custom MCP server that is not in the plugin directory. Also enable Enforce CSP in developer mode so the app is checked with the same content-security rules ChatGPT uses outside developer mode.
  4. Back in Plugins, click Browse Plugins, then click the + icon next to the search bar.
  5. Select Create App. In the New Plugin pop-up, click Create MCP App.
  6. Fill in:
    • Name: Sponsorcloud
    • Connection Type: Server URL
    • URL: https://prod-mcp-backend.invportal.com/mcpCopy
    • Authentication: OAuth
  7. Check the warning I understand and want to continue.
  8. Click Create.
  9. This should now appear in your Desktop App under Settings → Plugins.
  10. Start a new chat and confirm tools are listed.
