Learn how to easily add more signers to your existing eSign 2.0 template with this guide
Overview
If you are reading this guide, you likely already have an eSign template and wish to add additional signers. Please note that each eSign template supports a maximum of eight Investor signers.
This guide is intended for sponsors who:
-
Already have an existing eSign template
-
Need to update it to include additional signers for investment profiles
If you do not yet have an eSign template and would like to create one to get investors eSign them, please see our guide on How to Upload and Code eSign Templates.
Add and Configure Additional Signers
-
Navigate to Portfolio > select The Offering > eSign Templates.
-
Locate the template that requires additional signers and click the Edit Document icon
under Actions > Configure Signers.
-
On the Add Signer Roles page, click Add Another Role.
-
Enter the Role Title and use the required naming convention:
Example:
-
2nd Investor Signer →
Second_Investor
-
3rd Investor Signer →
Third_Investor
-
-
Ensure that all Investor signers are assigned signature boxes before saving changes to the template.
⚠️ Things to Avoid When Adding Signers
-
Don’t delete any existing signers from Add Signer Roles page
-
Don’t modify or remove Sponsor signers.
-
Don’t exceed the 8 Investor signer limit.
-
Don’t use incorrect naming conventions (follow
Second_Investor
,Third_Investor
, etc.). -
Don’t re-order Sponsor and Investor signers. All Investor signers must be listed before any Sponsor signers.
Troubleshooting Errors:
Example: Fixing an Error: Investor Signing Order After Sponsor
If any of the above issues occur, you will receive an error message after saving the template that explains the reason for the error. Until these errors are resolved, the template will remain under Draft status and unavailable to new investors.
⚠️ Important: Investors who have already started signing will not be impacted.
You can always revert to the original settings to reactivate the template. For further assistance, please contact our Success Team using the details below.
