Keeping Your Equity Under Management (EUM) Accurate in SponsorCloud

The article explains Equity Under Management (EUM), including how it is calculated and managed. It provides an overview of the factors that contribute to EUM, its significance in tiered pricing, and the process of tracking and updating it.

Equity Under Management (EUM) is a key metric that represents the total amount of active investor capital your firm manages within SponsorCloud.

EUM is calculated based on the total funded amount across all projects that meet the following criteria:

  • Approved Investments Only: Only investments with an Approved status are included in EUM. Investments in pending or other non-finalized statuses are excluded to ensure accuracy and fairness.

  • Eligible Offering Statuses: Only Offerings or Investor Classes with the status Accepting Investments or Manage are considered. Offerings marked as Past (indicating the project is closed) are excluded from the calculation.

To view the total funded amount for an investment, navigate to a specific offering and check the Cap Table on the Dashboard. The sum of these funded amounts across all eligible offerings constitutes your EUM.

Your Equity Under Management is prominently displayed on your Dashboard for easy and real-time monitoring.

How to Update a Closed Deal to Reflect in EUM

In this context, a "Closed Deal" refers to an investment that has gone full cycle — meaning the asset has been sold or fully exited, not just closed for accepting new investments.

By default, once an Offering or Offering Class is marked as "Past" in SponsorCloud, it is excluded from Equity Under Management (EUM) calculations.

Steps to Update the Deal:

Navigate to Portfolio > The Offering > Offering Details, then update the Offering Status or Investor Class Status to "Past".

Note: If you need the deal to continue contributing to EUM or to manage offering activities such as sending updates, distributions, or K-1s, the offering status must be set to "Manage". This ensures the deal remains active within the system and is properly included in your Equity Under Management.
